References and Links

References help you connect the conversations you're having across all your Projects and Pings. When you add a link to a message, to-do, card, event, document, or file elsewhere in Basecamp, you'll automatically create a Reference, instantly tying related things together. You can see where else something was discussed, so you have the full context no matter where the conversation happened.

References are in a separate tab alongside comments:

NOTE: You will only see References from projects and conversations that you can access.

Each Basecamp app has a different place to grab a link. We've got instructions for all of them:

Desktop App

Go to the Page menu in the top toolbar, then click "Copy Page Address"

Tap the ••• options menu at the top right, select "Share," and tap "Copy."
