Doors

Open a Door to other services right in your Basecamp projects! 🚪

A Door is a simple, direct link to any outside services or apps you use like GitHub, Slack, Zoom, etc. The Doors you open will be displayed alongside other tools in your project.

Open a Door

To add a Door to your project, click into that project, then the ••• menu at the top right of the page, then click the "Set up tools" option:

Just beneath the "Set up tools for this project" title, click the "Open a Door" link:

Choose the service you want to see on your project page and click "Add":

At the end of the list, we've got a useful"External Service" option. It's perfect for any extra links you're juggling alongside your main project tools. When you're setting up a new Door, it's super easy to add details like the link, title, description, and even a cool image for the Door. And if you're working on a client project, you can choose whether or not your client sees each Door.

Back in your Basecamp project, feel free to shuffle this Door to the perfect spot – just like you would with any other tool. Simply click, hold, and drag until it's right where you want it:

💡TIP: You can upload a custom image for every type of Door. We accept avif, heic, heif, webp, gif, jpeg, jpg, png image formats.

Edit Door

The Door is named after the external service by default, but you can always edit Door to rename it to something that makes more sense for your team, add description, and upload a custom image:

If you move away from that external service or just don't need the Door anymore, you also have the option to remove it. To edit tools and Doors, click into the project > then the ••• menu > Set up tools.
