Add Events
Click the Schedule tool of a particular project to get started (it isn't possible to add events directly to Upcoming Dates or My Schedule).
Find the date for your event on the Schedule and click "+New event" up top, or "Add an event" below the calendar grid:
Enter the details about your event. Events can be single day, multi-day, or recurring. You can have full-day events, or events with a start and end time. Add a note to give you or your team more information.
Select the members who are involved. We'll send them a notification about the event.

field means that they will be notified about the event creation, reminded about the event, updated on any changes made to the date/time, and made aware of any comments. - Including people as a subscriber (

) they'll get a notification that the event was created and they'll be notified when comments are made on that event.
NOTE: For all-day events, you'll get a reminder at 9 AM on the first day. For events with specific times, you'll get a notification one day before, and one hour before the start time.
Recurring Events
Does this event repeat? Choose from the pre-defined options or configure your own Weekly or Monthly custom repeat option:
Choose what to show on a Schedule
When you add a Schedule tool to your project, you can choose what you want to show there - events and assignments with due dates or events only:
NOTE: Changing what to show on a Schedule affects everyone on the project.
Of course you can always change it later by clicking the ••• more options button in your Schedule and selecting "Choose what to show":
💡 TIP: You can have an assignments-only Schedule by simply not adding events to it!
Sync your Schedule with an external calendar
You can sync individual events to your calendar or you can sync the entire schedule with an external calendar program like Google Calendar, Outlook, or Apple Calendar. Click the link on the Schedule page to sync the full project schedule to your external calendar program:
Just right-click the link for your particular external calendar, select "Copy Link Address," and then paste that URL in your external calendar's subscribe feature:
You can also do this on your phone in a very similar way for both individual events and a project's entire Schedule. The first screenshot shows the Subscribe...
button to tap on to subscribe to the whole schedule. For individual events, you can tap on the "Add to my calendar" link after you choose a particular event:
When you subscribe to a project Schedule, you'll see dates that go 2 years back, and 5 years forward. This is different than My Schedule which goes 1 month back, and 18 months forward. And different from Upcoming Dates which goes 1 month back, and 3 months forward.
NOTE: Google Calendar may occasionally take around 8-12 hours to pull in Basecamp events, sometimes as long as 24 hours.
We've looked into these syncing delays to see if there's anything we can do to improve the situation, but due to the functionality of the Google Calendar, we're not able to make it sync any faster. Sorry!
Add an event to an external calendar
Don't need to sync the whole Schedule? You can add a single event to your personal calendar, using the options for Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, or Outlook:
Click to add the event to an Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, or Outlook:
View events
You can decide on what is shown on Your Schedule - events and assignments with due dates or events only.
You'll see who's involved with your events, and who is assigned to a to-do or a card. Click the title of the event (or assignemnt with a due date!) to view it. Use the arrows to navigate back in time or forward to the future.
There can be a lot of changes to a single event! We've made it so that all of those events collapse and only show the most recent change:
Don't have any deadlines for your Project? Turn off the Schedule in the Settings menu. Here's how:
